Formative Paths

Considering the proposed changes to high school, our Formative Paths are designed based on the STEAM methodology, which we’ll call STEAMP as we add critical thinking and citizenship to a domain we call Life Project. Throughout the three years of high school in Brazil, students will be exposed to different aspects of this innovative pedagogical practice. Distributed across the three years, the areas that comprise STEAMP will allow teachers and the school to work in partnership, developing students' diverse aptitudes in their elective journeys.

Computer Science, Robotics, and Programming

The subjects of Robotics, Programming, and Computer Science in high school encourage students to build their own knowledge through practical projects. These activities foster skills like proactivity, leadership, logical thinking, and technological fluency. They also promote teamwork and the ability to solve complex problems, preparing students for academic and professional challenges with a broader understanding of technology and its impact on society.

Financial Education and Mathematics

In the subject of Financial Education and Mathematics, we address conscious consumption and financial planning across different curricular components, empowering students to handle money better and plan for life projects. It contributes to forming adults with risk management skills, ready to face potential financial adversities. The subject encourages responsible consumption, savings, and smart investing, promoting a healthy relationship with money from an early age.

Life Project and Citizenship

The Life Project and Citizenship subject in high school offers students space to reflect on their personal, academic, and professional choices. With a focus on self-awareness, this subject addresses themes such as ethics, social responsibility, rights, and duties while encouraging the development of a sustainable life plan aligned with their values. By discussing citizenship issues and the impact of individual decisions on the collective, students are empowered to play an active and conscious role in society.

Technology and Energy Sources

The Technology and Energy Sources subject in high school explores the main technological innovations related to the generation, storage, and consumption of energy. Students study various energy sources, from renewable to non-renewable, analyzing their environmental and economic impacts. Additionally, they develop a critical understanding of sustainable energy use and its role in transforming society, preparing themselves to deal with future energy challenges consciously and responsibly.

The World’s Mechanisms: Political and Economic Models

The World’s Mechanisms: Political and Economic Models subject in high school provides an in-depth analysis of the political and economic systems that shape contemporary societies. Students study different models such as capitalism, socialism, and liberal democracies, as well as the role of global political and economic institutions. The subject also addresses the impact of these systems on international relations and the development of nations, enabling students to better understand the functioning of the world and their role as conscious and critical citizens.
